At Power Pickleball Club, we’re more than just a place to play pickleball. We’re a community, a hub where pickleball buffs of all levels can come together to improve their game, enjoy top-notch facilities, and grow the sport together. Central to this experience are our exceptional coaches, who strengthen our club with their expertise, their passion, and their unique stories. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to some of the standout coaches who make Power Pickleball Club the premier destination for pickleball in the Inland Northwest.
John Petty: The Game-Changer
John Petty is a name that resonates deeply within the pickleball community. John is not just a player; he’s a force to be reckoned with on the court. A 4.5+ level player and PPR-certified coach, John brings to our team an abundance of pickleball experience as well as a proven track record of boosting players’ skills.
Before joining us, John was a pivotal figure in the Columbus, GA Pickleball Association, where he spearheaded initiatives that put the city on the pickleball map. From organizing large-scale tournaments that drew players from seven states together to leading clinics for beginners, intermediates, and youth, John’s influence was transformative. His coaching philosophy is simple but powerful: If you’re willing to put in the work, he guarantees a raise of at least 0.5 in your pickleball skill level within just 2-3 months. We believe him, and after just one session with John, you will too.
But John’s personal pickleball prowess is only part of the picture; he’s also part of a talented pickleball family. You might have seen him and his brother, Ty Petty, on the podium together at the 2022 US Open. Ty introduced John to pickleball, changing his professional trajectory forever, and now John is ready to pass on that transformative experience to our members. We couldn’t be more excited to have John join our team, and we know you’ll love training with him.
Clint and Summer Castleman: The Dynamic Duo
When we talk about power couples in pickleball, Clint and Summer Castleman top the list. Clint, a top player in the region with a near 5.0 rating, is not just an incredible athlete; he’s a phenomenal coach and personal trainer with PPR and IPTPA certifications to his name. His zeal for pickleball is infectious, and he is dedicated to guiding players in refining their skills and deepening their love for the game. If you’re looking to fine-tune your technique or develop a new strategy, Clint is your go-to coach.
Not only is Clint a top-tier teacher, he has an additional gift in the support and partnership of his marvelous wife, Summer. Having successfully run a daycare business together for 19 years, the Castlemans bring a unique cooperation to our club. Summer manages our front desk and pro shop, providing an authentic welcome and personalized care for every member. Her warmth, organizational skills, and genuine love for people make her a welcome sight to anyone who walks through our doors. Together, Clint and Summer offer a combination of athletic expertise and heartfelt hospitality that will make your experience at Power Pickleball Club truly special.
Patrick DeRyan: The Strategic Specialist
Patrick DeRyan’s journey to pickleball is nothing short of inspiring. After a 30-year career in competitive basketball, a fortuitous Achilles injury led him to discover pickleball—a sport that has since become his new passion. Patrick quickly transitioned from novice to medal-winning player across the Western USA, and now he’s bringing his strategic acumen to Power Pickleball Club.
As a certified instructor, Patrick specializes in the “three P’s” of pickleball: positioning, patience, and placement. His coaching style is methodical, focused on helping players of all levels deepen their understanding of the game and develop strategies to give them a competitive edge. With a background that includes service in the US Coast Guard and teaching English in China, Patrick brings a diverse and enriching perspective to the court. We’re excited to have Patrick on our team and can’t wait for you to benefit from his strategic insights.
Lori Inman: The Energizer
Last but certainly not least, we’re thrilled to have Lori Inman on our coaching roster. After dedicating 30 years to teaching and coaching at the high school level, Lori found a new passion in pickleball. From the moment she picked up a paddle, she was hooked, and now she’s eager to share that enthusiasm with our members, especially the players in our Little Picklers program, where she and fellow coach Shelli introduce kids ages 6-14 to the world of pickleball and teach them basic pickleball skills.
Lori’s energy is boundless, and her commitment to helping others succeed is unparalleled. Whether you’ve been playing for a while or are just beginning your pickleball adventure, Lori’s supportive and encouraging approach will help you reach your goals while having a great time on the court. We’re confident that Lori will make a profound impact at Power Pickleball Club, and we can’t wait for you to meet her.
